Spotify crashes all the time fix please     It doesnt work

Not working correctly after the update Before I was able to have this app running listening to web radio and when I wanted to listen to media from my phone I would just press the media button next to the I drive and I could switch to it without problems Now I have this app running with web radio and when I press the media button Im still connected to the web radio and cant listen to my phones media Please fix it     Not working right

The update says it works while in background But pandora stops playing if I lock or go to the home screen FAIL        Doesnt work while in background

by the recent update Didnt find this ap useful until it started working with Spotify a couple of months ago However this functionality completely stopped after the recent update on May 5 Please fix     Had hopes dashed

You will be sorry you did I would have given the previous version two stars and Would give zero to the update if I could Constantly crashes I never know if it is going to work or not When I try to switch from spotify over to he BMW web radio app the entire connected drive crashes and then I cant get it to restart The older version was limited but at least predictable I have spent hours on the phone with the genius team and their main suggestion was to use a new cable I bought my car 2015 4 series in part for the iPhone interface and I could not be more disappointed I really regret upgrading It made things worse     DO NOT UPGRADE

In 2015 what do I need with an app I need to manually update with a thumb drive in my car just so I can manually synch up the open app every time I turn on the car And once you go through all that It doesnt actually do anything I streamed pandora through my phone one time which I could do without the app but then the next time I turned on my car my phone wouldnt work until I did a hard restart The only good thing I can say is that at least it operates as designed Its actually supposed to be this lame        Hard to believe its this bad

With speed cameras environmental concerns the cost of gas increasing traffic its increasingly rare to get a chance to enjoy driving a quality car That makes the technology a car has all the more important Its a pity then that this app like the UI in the car overall is extremely poor Lots of redundant buttons ill thought through menus and missing functionality Id be way better off with an iPad in the dashboard The worst issue on this app is that you cant switch it off easily It currently switches the radio on immediately after I finish any call whether or not Im in the car If I dont go to the app and pause the stream it consumes bandwidth raising my phone bill My 740ix cost almost 100k Id have expected better     Dreadful

Despite the reviews I thought Id try it anyway worst case I can always delete it So immediately after the download I plugged in my iPhone and violaall was good in the hood I dont see myself using the apps much but knowing that I can is pleasant I did try pandora through the app no problem The next trip I decide to take I may try the map option but for now just knowing that its there if I want it is cool              Not bad

The only reason o downloaded this app is because I could use Facebook with it Now the FB app is gone REALLY DONE     WHERE IS FACEBOOK

A 200 aftermarket receiver has 10x the features and actually works The fact that BMW has continued to screw its customers with 4000 technology packages that cant read email cant read texts every update loses more of the extremely limited cumbersome and barely functional apps is appalling The ultimate driving machine is being beaten by 12000 Suzukis on the technology front     Continues to disappoint

This app completely stopped working for me after the last update Please BMW hire some better developers     Not functional

Hold off on upgrading to this version Read on I just upgraded to this new app I was immediately disappointed I have a 2014 X1 The previous app was working great I would start it when i got in the car i could switch to other apps from the center console like Pandora Easy Peasy Then with this update that all went away like my dreams of playing for a major league baseball team What happens now iswhen the app is running it allows the phone to lock IF said phone is locked then well you cant switch to other apps like Pandora or Glympse or whatever I did sent this feedback via the app on my phone and got a well we cant personally respond to you but thanks for the feedback Ummm ok So I emailed BMW Genius BTW they WERE very nice and pleasant and got back to me right away This is what I was told and this is my response to them after a very nice phone call Email Hello I just spoke with someone who was very pleasant and professional I must say that I am disappointment with the decision to allow the phone to lock when the BMW connected APP is running This prevents the driver from switching to another app I was told this was done on purpose for safety If the driver has the phone in the BMW cradle then heshe would have to open the center console unlock the phone to switch to the Pandora app Before you could just switch on the fly while driving Similar to how you could switch from AM to FM to Sat or to you media This really makes no sense at all I would officially log a complaint again the Connected Drive App Should I love this on the iTunes store as a not satisfied review Please advise Regardless thank you for the professional and quick response No complaints against this email or the phone call John     HOLD OFF this update changes funtionality Read on

First obvious issue is the separation of Pandora from BMW Connected Im sure theres a good reason for this but it escapes me This should be fixed with Pandora integrated into the BMW app I love the web radio Wish I hadnt bought the Sirius receiver Look forward to new functions although the iDrive already has so many I wonder if I really want them I guess email integration is the next obvious step at least for me UPDATE AUG 2015 This app has not evolved It now will start playing web radio randomly In my office at home eating lunch Have to purposely kill the app to ensure it doesnt start jamming on its own BMW please give this app to a qualified mechanic who can fix     I like the app but UPDATED

Who develops this for you Because this app is a joke Atleast update fixed using app in background partialy Background works with bmw connect apps but does not with pandora and such its like bmw is forcing me to use their services Even with new update I force myself to use the app as there is nothing useful in it Outsource this make a free contest for developers to make a bmw app as promotion results will be amazing because right now Im ashamed to see bmw logo next to this     Background

BMW connected is the worst car entertainment system I have ever used First I cant use Bluetooth properly so I try connecting via USB No matter which way I try to play music both are broken Speaking to a customer service representative at BMW they keep saying this app is the godsend to fix it Well boy are they wrong all it does is jump me to the auto app I want to use On top of that 95 of the time it wont connect to the car BMW get it together people spend a lot of money on your vehicles the least you can do is put some effort into the entertainment system to make are that it works     Horrible

My Alpine receiver that I had on my old car was great because I didnt have to start Pandora on the phone for it to work on the radio Why cant BMW do this           I wish the app can run in the background or not be launched to run

I was hesitant to get the app because of the bad reviews but the app works perfectly for me on my X5 Not a glitch so far Im loving it Perhaps people who are complaining need to update their idrive system and smart phone I use an iphone 6 btw                 Works perfectly for me

The update says that it fixes multitaskingBUT IT DOESNT The same problems exist since the introduction of IOS7 thats not a typo     Still doesnt work right

Please add Bluetooth integration with the car its faster and handy I agree with all the bad reviews but the question is is the company read them I dont see any improvement     Needs Bluetooth plz

One thing that BMW might forgot to mention was that in order for the updated app to work the car needs to have the software updated as well I also downloaded the new app with excitement that it will work with the app running in the background and was disappointed when it didnt I checked and there is actually a software update for the car as well Once I updated the car software things started to work beautifully ie I can listen to pandora in my car while the app is running in the background using USB connection So it does work but the updates need to happen on both the phone and the car And when connecting through bluetooth the artwork will change with the song as well now              It is an improvement

An Amazingly low end app from a company that prides itself on high end technology This app requires a hard wired connection to the car It also requires some time before the car recognizes that the phone and app are available through the usb cable     Buggy

The latest app has disable eco pro analyser and spotify from working In addition it takes longer to load data and open app within connecteddrive Finally cant used the phone when running apps as it doesnt work on background like it supposed to do Complete garbage and I wish I can give 0 star review     Unreliable app

After such an amazing brand experience with Bimmers for the past 10 years this goes against everything that keeps me loyal to the brand Makes my normally fun and exciting drive more frustrating I tend to just leave music off and ride with the windows down now Disappointing     Broken

I never use this because its a hassle You cannot use your phone while using this app since it doesnt work in the background even though the update says it fixed this Much easier to connect phone via bluetooth and deal with the album art of the first song being stuck on the screen If they ever fix this to work in the background I would consider using it     Agree with other reviewer

This app is currently useless in this state I use to at least be able to control spotify and now that doesnt work correctly either Not sure I understand the point of this app anymore     Atypical of BMW engineering

The app doesnt run smooth the phone screen has to be unlocked and on for it to run to switch between apps you need to unlock the screen yet again Grrrrr frustrating and doesnt offer much app integration bring back Facebook who cares about Twitter SMH     This app is crippled

Like a fool I upgraded my phone in hope that a newer iPhone 6 would work better with my 2012 z4 35i Nope It just doesnt work Moreover connecting by usb cable seems to screw up the Bluetooth connection until the car is shut off and restarted disconnected from the cable For a company that has such a strong reputation for excellence in every detail and for as much as I paid for my car this was a glaring disappointment The app seems determined to piss off the customer The software dev team just needs to be replaced     Doesnt connect

Dont waste your time downloading this app as its not worth the connectivity frustrations you will experience Im actually shocked BMW put their name on such a subpar product I didnt purchased my X5 or M6 Grand Coupe based on the ability to connect my iPhone but it would be nice to effortlessly listen to my iTunes music without these challenges Ive seen high school kids build more impressive appsmaybe the CEO Mr Nobert Reithofer should consider adding a high school summer internship to his technologydriver convenience budget because I cant imagine BMW at this point can catch up because they are obviously way behind     Complete Failure

Unusable     Update broke Spotify

As everyone else mentions the app itself is not great but it does have useful functions The Spotify and Pandora functionality is spectacular in my opinion and if you use either of these services youll need the BMW Connected app in order to use the full functionality through ConnectedDrive Of course you can use Bluetooth but its just not the same With the app installed I actually have access to all of my Spotify playlists and radio stations without having to touch my phone and it displays the album art which is a nice touch The bad part about this app is its very slow to connect It probably takes me 25 minutes to get it connected and actually functioning which is a little disappointing if youre just making a short trip to the store The other bummer is that the phone cannot be locked while the app is connected so it just sits there with the screen on the entire time This seems a bit silly but at least the phone is on a charger I use an iPhone 5s with iOS 8              Must have for Spotify Subscribers

I agree with all the negative reviews on here for all the same reasons This app is a stain upon the BMW brand and a complete disservice to loyal BMW customers     AN UNMITIGATED DISASTER

I plugged my iPhone into the car USB port and it asked me if I wanted this app so I downloaded it After some initial excitement I thoughts turned to pure despise What a was of of my wireless bandwidth the app stalls and will not load This app is junk I thought Apple was suppose to vett apps before putting them on iTunes     Worst App Ever

I had no issues with the prior versions This version will not allow some of the apps to launch I get a certificate error     Does not work at all

Does anyone even test this app with BMW media cradle for iPhone In version 24 it would take couple of minutes for the menu to show Latest 25 version does not work in the background despite the update states it does Here is current 25 behaviour connect iPhone to cradle go to connected drive click additional apps you get a message BMW connected app must be running open compartment click the phone start button click BMW Connected app or remove the phone from cradle start the app then connect again Not only this is unsafe when driving but it is a hassle dealing with this issue And talking about additional apps can you add some useful apps like Waze instead of apps nobody has heard of like EnLighten Desperately needs bug fixing or outsource it as other reviewer below mentioned     Recent update added more bugs than it fixed

Crashes all of the time automatically connects when trying to use a supported app instead of just letting you streamcontrol music over USB No email or messaging support Poor usability Time to realize people want to use their smartphone features in a car within reason which this app fails at     Terrible

BMW needs to move away from trying to interface to phones and just add a dock and mirroring software so customers can use their iPhones or iPads as the primary devices The BMW interfaces are plagued with bugs lack of current updates and overall lack of concern to rectify incompatibilities Ive tried working with the Genius team but they have no direct communication with BMW development and lack the ability to answer customer questions regarding missing functionality advertised as working I love driving the BMW vehicle but the technology package is a total waste of money in its current design The interface in my Ford premium truck is actually better The intent of the technology package offerings is well intentioned but the execution and real life day to day experience is not acceptable for a luxury automobile     BMW iPhone Interface is bad
