I love Discover magazine It is very informative and well written but the app leaves a lot to be desired I have to download the magazine every time I launch it otherwise I only get black screens instead of pages This makes it impossible to read the magazine offline        Great magazine awful app

The content is what youd expect The reader however is not While it renders beautifully it regularly snaps back to the top of the page If while dragging the page during reading you bump into the left or right side the view snaps to the top again I believe the app sees this as a navigation from the previous or next page even though you never left the current page It happens to me at least three time for each page I read and Im being careful Infuriating downgraded to one star to lash out again at the awful navigation app I cancelled my subscription solely due to the impossible UI     Content great app frustrating

There is really no point in having the limited version because u cannot even read an article in full You need to pay and this is very limiting Why not just have the entire app as a pay app        Too limited

Ive been a reader of the magazine since the 1980s when it was called Science 84 Science 85 etc and there is none better for the lay reader that contains solid science reporting in an attractive and entertaining format The app exactly replicates the magazine layout a design choice that has its pluses and minuses but it looks good at the expense somewhat of ease of navigation and intuitive interface Id give it five stars for content and three stars for interface Still I like the app version enough that I havent gone back to the paper format              Excellent science newsmagazine

I have a subscription to the print version of the magazine but theres no place to tell the app that so if I want to see any of the content I have to pay for it again also this app installs itself into the newsstand and when its active the newsstand takes over my homepage and I cant start up any of my other apps when this one is running     Terrible

This app worked great for a while but now is suddenly finicky and wont open for me     App is finicky

Best money I have spent in the longest time This is everything that is promised and more Great articles and beautiful picture I love the thought provoking stories I would have given it a higher rating but 5 is as high as it will go Would recommend to anyone who enjoys learning new things Great job                 Discover Magazine

I just subscribed and started using this magazine app So far its great and what I was hoping for                 Great magazine

I only took a look at the preview content but it looks like you basically reproduce the printed pages verbatim page by page This doesnt well on my mini ipad as I keep on having to scroll around to read even one printed page Basically this is a deal breaker because its such a clumsy way to navigate around a page Take a look at the wikipanion app for a better to handle it youre better off dynamically reformatting the content based the device screen size again take a look at wikipanion as an example        formatting doesnt translate well

I had a subscription to discover magazine but never could view any of the issues                 This app is not ok

Ive read my first issue JanFeb 15 and enjoyed it very much The only problem is clipping articles If the articles are sent through the app the resulting email cant be read So clipping an article requires a screen shot etc It would be nice to clip and send a readable article directly from the app              Good but needs improvement

The magazine is a great read but why must this app be so difficult to use Sometimes it doesnt load Other times it wont let me turn the page iBooks got it Emulate their design If it wasnt for the disfunctionality of the app I would give it a wellearned 5 stars              The application itself is a problem

I love that you can download previews of each issue and then buy if you so choose Problem went to buy the nob issue and I cant It is frozen on the step of processing request for the last 5 hours I cant get it to go back or move past that step           Cant buy issue

This is the worst customer service ever Downloaded the app Bought a year subscription I was super happy and could not wait to start reading the current issue But I could not access it I tried the restore purchase as suggested but it said failed to restore 1 purchase try to download it individually you will not be charged for it Wrong Less than five minutes later they had charged my CC I called their customer service to see if we could work things out but the lady could not care less She kept saying that I needed to contact Apple to have them cancel the charges Fine but I wanted also to make sure that everything would be in order for the upcoming year She just did not want to help me in any way and told me to call Apple and have them cancel all the charges I did contact Apple and they were able to reverse both charges Sadly I wont be reading this magazine but if they dont care to have customer then I will never recommend this magazine     Worst customer service ever

I only wish less of the online version was taken up by advertisin              Love reading Discover articles

When will you get up to speed and format this for iPad To pinch and zoom to read is way to cumbersome and difficult to read Look at all the other great science magazines like Popular Science Popular Mechanics National Geographic American Scientist etc that all have done it right     Not formatted for ipad

I have read Discover since I was an elementary school student through the adult I am today It is at once better that some other more populist magazines which while fun dont present or give access to the hard sciences and other more academic magazines which while giving the access can fail in accessibility From saving money as a kid for the next issue to now I and now my daughters cant wait for each issue and use it for our own literature surveys when we get that first taste from Discover A real tradition to this day                 Science and Technology for all ages

Would like some interface changes but other wise good app              Not bad

I love Discover Great variety of topics with coverage that is in depth without being beyond MY depth I used to subscribe to Scientific American another great magazine but the articles were way too scientificfor me discover is perfect and the app is easy and intuitive to use                 Great app and magazine
