The app functions very well and is easy to use I expected from the price for it to be very useful But despite its easy function an appalling lack of diagnosis limits its use I keep having to use other apps to locate diagnostic criteria for psych ICD 10 codes It is simply not complete What it does have is helpful enough to make accurate diagnosis but once you are done with common ones and need a little help with less common this often falls short Bottom line Functional but not worth it         I expected better Bereanone
I purchased this app in error however I cannot even open it I asked iTunes for a refund and they state this app does not qualify for a refund     Unintended purchase Won t even work LMPol
The videos that are mentioned are not compatible with my device iPhone or iPad         Diagnostic criteria is helpful but no videos as advertised MattVDZ
I guess I m just here on a heuristic journey I proffered 5 stars up for this app because I felt humbled to behold the excesses of DSM 5 in the palm of my hand My 256 GB iPhone 7 is now replete A P A for God sake I knew she was in backlog too put her to work straight away fixing the video playback F up                     I am not S C H I Z O P H R E N I A @LOBOTOMY101
Like use the app but got email saying Spanish Language Supported Huh what where Explain how please         Spanish language supported JPS000
Latest update does not include 10 1 16 changes to ICD 10 codes e g OCD changing from F42 to F42 2 Search function does not always work well in locating certain diagnoses This app is expensive please hire your app coders accordingly         Incomplete Birdistheword73
I wish I would have read the reviews prior to buying this It gives you a good overall view of the disorders but it is not good for clinical use Definitely not worth the cost I will be attempting to get a refund     Save your money js113
Highly disappointed with this purchase at this price It does not contain the same level of information found in the hard copy of the DSM 5 Invest your resources in the hard copy     Weak and limited Chipjr3
I thought at this price there would be more info But as it s title suggests it s ONLY the list of diagnostic criteria no codes no differential diagnosis no appendices So pretty much just a very expensive study tool Trying to get a refund on this it s just not enough and still need a physical book on hand which defeats the purpose of having an app         Inadequate Hickory Mom
Very disappointing Good for learning about criteria Poor for when you already know the diagnosis and just want to quickly drill down just to the diagnostic code Maybe it needs a section that is just names and codes like the Pocket Guide to DSM 4 I can t believe significant computer programming talent went into this project         DSM 5 for iPhone VoboLobo
All this app is is a collection of the bare bones DSM criteria Thought it d be handy to have some of the DSM discussions epi data risk factors etc even if somewhat abbreviated on my iPhone for handy reference during rounds but this this I could have cut and pasted into a 10 page word document and emailed to myself in less than an hour I guess it was my own fault being that the name states Criteria but somehow I thought for 70 it would have been more than that especially since it is published by the APA itself The app would be worth 10 but even that would be pushing it     NOT WORTH THE MONEY DrZara
In future versions try to make sure that the video overplay floats on top as you look through the rest of the app texts     Suggestion Mleepunky
While I like the Ap for searching diagnostic criteria the diagnostic codes are not currently up to date Do not use the codes from this Ap until you have confirmed the coded are correct with the APA website             Codes not currently up to date Dckerley
I went ahead and hit the Buy button for the DSM V iPhone app and I m actually enjoying thumbing through it OK enjoy might be an overstatement but the app is well laid out and engaging as a way to explore You can read by categories of diagnoses down the left column or search easily It has the ICD9 and ICD10 codes for each and lists diagnostic criteria The app really is a lot better organized and approachable than the print edition It s expensive for an app but will probably get more use than my bound edition Of course what it lacks is a complete ICD10 listing independent of the DSM sanctioned nomenclature but for everyday use and a comfortable way to warm up to DSM V and ICD10 it may be worth it for many                 A way to warm up to DSM V ICD10 Carl Hindy, PhD
There are descriptions of how substance use disorders are understood and should be described but the criteria required to meet the specific diagnosis are not listed             Should include Substance Use Disorder Criteria michalita
This is basically a really good replacement for the pocket DSM 5 but not for the entire text It would be nice to add differential diagnosis but otherwise a very handy tool I think the search function is especially useful rather than thumbing through a text                 Great supplement RDHLCSW
I am using it on my iPhone and this is a lousy app I may have given it 3 stars in 2007 when we used to have many lousy apps like this on iPhone but not in 2014 Someone here rightly said that it s worth 2 3     Poor Layout and Expensive Sholay
It s missing the GAF and is not as informative as a hard copy The APA already made some chages in the codes but this iPAD version ahs never been updated It s a costly application for the little compacted information provied They should charge 5 99 for this application I officially giving it minus 2 stars     Disappointed Glutathione
I only paid for it for the Spanish update which was a lie Too expensive not worth money and doesn t have what it claims to have             Bad app false advertising IzabelleAdelina7347
I do like the way the app works and is laid out It s user friendly and has most of the needed codes and criteria However a big negative is that the V codes are missing AND there have been changes to the codes at the APA website but no updates on the app to reflect this It d be an easy fix and for the price of the app it should be done regularly I inquired and APA told me there were no plans to update the app at this time and to visit the website If I wanted to have to do that I d do that all the time rather than pay 70 got an app Very disappointing             Incomplete not updated Gizzy fishy fishy fish!
If what you want is a quick way to flip through and search the criteria this app meets your needs I would have liked to have some links where Dx are cross referenced Some of the charts especially around personality disorders would have also been nice to have Even better would be access to the metrics now available on the APA website Not a very powerful program I hope there are planned updates             Adequate but expensive Simka312
A great investment for any mental health profesional Well designed and easy to use                     Perfect For Ipad adamkirchmann
I am pleased with the produce and ease of use on my iPad However it will not open on my iPhone I read the description and it claims to be optimized for the iPhone 5 not so much I was hoping to have a quick reference with me at all times If this is fixed I will definitely give it 5 stars as I was aware of the benefits and limitations when I purchased it             iPad good iPhone bad Mrs. Lovely Lawson
Not much here Yes the diagnostic criteria but nothing that elevates this beyond the pocket edition             Not worth the money Psychiatrist in CT
Great app And here s my wish list to improve it 1 adjustable font size is a must 2 highlighting of some sort 3 note writing maybe Thanks                     Great app Wish list thecoast
I was so excited to get the DSM 5 on my iPhone because i don t have to carry the heavy thing wherever I go I like that it gives some video vignettes too Its pretty easy to use Warning to practitioners you will finds some of the diagnosis were missing diagnosis codes I m a practitioner I need those codes That was frustrating I would give it a higher rating if and when they get that fixed             Disappointed Lionziex
Way too basic This app should cost 1 99 I can t believe they can ethically sell this What a joke     RIP OFF CaliforniaManny
The information presented is incomplete For example the entry for schizophrenia only includes the Diagnostic Criteria portion There are an additional 5 pages of information in the book that are left out of the app This is not the case for just schizophrenia Every disorder I looked up was missing an incredible amount of information As for the videos there are a whooping 16 of them Yeah I get that it s called the DSM 5 Criteria but for the price way more information should have been included An eBook would have been more helpful             Incomplete RodWright
Just bought the app paying 69 so I can have it handy without having to refer to the book always Still I feel it is rather basic The videos work on iphone 5 after the new update I hope they will keep updating and improving it and it becomes worth the money that was charged for it If it was a little more detailed it would get a 5 star from me But worth keeping on the phone                 DSM V criteria is quite handy Bengalbijlee
Basic bland layout Does not even allow to zoom in or out for reading preferences Also video player is not enabled new ipad or iphone 4 I do not think that even the developers of the DSM 5 could seriously recommend this product based on presentation alone much less at this price point         Handy but disappointing app ConanTerminator
Video not working             Video Ssijaz
Over priced App is clean and easy to navigate Information is easy to read on my iPad On the iPhone indented text stacks to the right making for lots of two word lines and lots of scrolling Search is well done Book mark seems to be of limited use Video is limited Why is this app not all of the book App needs a few additions 1 Highlight capabilities 2 Quote capture tools for export to assist with report writing and teaching 3 Diagnostic trees and adjunct information For the price I expected more user friendly Apple enhanced capabilities This app is a good start but the APA is thinking of it as a book not an app In my humble opinion the APA is so concerned about profit and copyright that this apps interactive usefulness is limited             Better than book but Philip Copitch, Ph.D.
Convenience is key App works well on iPhone and iPad in the office bedside team meetings Only bug is that videos do not have sound when being played on iPad Please correct                 Convenience Sumo6773
It is a bare bones text version Not many links between sections Cant expand zoom text No short cuts or links to the necessary use of V codes that are replacing the Axis IX and GAF or hyperlinks to potential differential diagnosis Unattractive white help page is the default home Expected a better navigation than swiping left             Data without thrills SB370
It s great to have diagnoses and diagnostic codes at my fingertips no matter where I am I really like the app it s almost worth the price But what about the video There s no sound Please fix this ASAP ApA                 Handy but Lutepisc
Unfortunately the sound on the video does not work Otherwise this seems to be a very good program             DSM 5 SFreud5
Excellent app                     Perfect Mattekman
Handy to have an official DSM app especially given the major update The videos are a nice touch In general the swipe based menu system is ok But it would be nice to be able to alter the type size for tablet vs phone reading                 Interface Format Ember Days
There are disorders which have the diagnostic criteria listed This is useful However I was shocked not to find any criteria for any substance use disorder Since this is one of my specialty fields it yields the app nearly worthless when I am in my work related specifically to addictive disorders This is why I gave it a three Had I known this before I bought the app I would not have done so Hopefully the APA will update this app and add the missing criteria sections Disappointing Waiting for corrective action by APA             Diagnostic Criteria The Low Bass
