Amazing educational and absolutely a gift for a sky watcher                     Stunning Kristikylia
I ve tried many many many iOS and Android astronomy and star apps for multiple purposes such as finding constellations tracking satellites and the ISS determining rising and set times of the moon and sun the planets stars and deep sky objects as well as using it for polar alignment assistance not the actual alignment to polaris but 3 star alignment afterwords Out of all the other apps Luminos goes ABOVE and beyond my expectations and requirements for an astro app and being an amateur astronomer and avid astrophotographer I certainly have a decent list of requirements The fluidity dexterity and sheer depth of knowledge available in Luminos is mind blowing What s even more awesome is that you can fly to planets and other solar system objects their moons and satellites and even land on some surfaces and the graphics take full advantage of iPhone s gpu The only negatives I could find is 1 for first time users Luminos can be a little overwhelming and a tad bit difficult to navigate initially but it won t take long to start getting to grips with the power that lies before you 2 and it may just be a problem inherent to my individual iPhone but occasionally Luminos will crash after prolonged use but just requires a restart Overall it s worth the hefty pricetag of 19 99 and certainly takes full advantage of the iPhone architecture and processing abilities Major kudos to WobbleWorks                     The best star app on iOS App Store Altair Abdul Khabir (Kyle)
Very beautiful app well done U tube videos to help learn the app although it is very intutive I am highly recommending this to anyone who has an interest in Astronomy                 Well done BobO Marsh
A few days after downloading this app I sat at my iPad and deleted several apps that I had been utilizing for years This app replaced them all and for less money than the others combined                 Delete Delete Delete Scott Lawson in NC
Love it                     Fantastic tool terih2os
Best app I ve used A little expensive but well worth the money                     Great App Madmaxx1313
Finally I have found a celestial program where I can by name find and now actually have an instant list of the 57 stars recognized in the Nautical Almanac This may appear on the face of it a trivial use of such a clearly capable program however none of the other paid for celestial apps can do this or even when asked and financially encouraged bother to make a list available in the app Admittedly I had to list the stars from the Almanac in a custom list it s not a built in hint hint but that is a small ask So if you as I use a sextant and an Nautical Almanac this is the program for you                     Navigating by Stars KialoaKiwi
Luminos is the kind digital orrery I dreamed of having as a child before the advent of devices like the iPad This app is awesome for viewing stars nebulae and other deep space objects It really shines if what you want is a nice look around our own solar system Orbit any planet or moon and view surface features in detail Surface texture quality is good and most planetoids have label data for major geological features Datasets provided by the Minor Planet Center and celestrak can be downloaded and updated automatically This is a great feature if you re curious about minor objects man made satellites asteroids comets c The interface quality is great and view settings can be tuned with detail to match your individual preferences Automatic updates for catalog data is a very nice feature                     Amazing detail Chroniton
Whether youre doing unaided visual astronomy or using a powerful telescope this is THE astronomy app                 Fantastic app for all astronomers
One of the most informative astronomy apps Ive ever seen So much information at a touch Great work guys Well worth the price                 Luminosastronomy companion for IOS
Very helpful for an amateur astronomer Easy to use                 Awesome
No doubt this is my gazing companion when I attempt to do a little star hopping The only thing missing would be an option to invert the image to resemble what is actually seen through the eyepiece of the telescope My feeble mind has difficulty trying to manually flip everything in my head when trying to navigate space I bought StarmapHD which has that eyepiece feature but that app is pretty screwed up and hard to use that I seldom attempt to use it Update the developer came through with my request for an eyepiece option to invert the image as seem in the eyepiece Thanks This deserves the five star rating now                 Definitely the Best But
Iv bought a lot 15 of Astronomy Apps looking for the prefect one Luminos StarChart Redshift Are the top 3 Luminos is 1 because it does everything just point your Phone or iPad at the sky and it tells you what your looking at Best of all there are NO other request for money or adds Others want money for meteor showers asteroids comets But not Luminos And its Beautiful                 1 Top 3 Astronomy Apps Beautiful
This app has rekindled my interest in astronomy and satellite tracking The only problem is having to turn the motion tracking feature on repeatedly as it turns itself off                 Very cool
Very beautiful app well done U tube videos to help learn the app although it is very intutive The item I wish it had was auto sync to the sky when you hold it up Some other apps have this feature and I like it a lot I withheld a star on that              Well done
This is hands down the BEST astronomy app on iOS It might have the flashiest UI or glittering effects but its still darn pretty and is the most feature packed app of its kind Ive bought almost all of them including Redshift and Distant Suns but this one is the only one that remains on my phone To the devs thank you Sincerely To everyone else youd be doing yourself a disservice to pass this one up                 The best astronomy app on iOS
Amazing app wellworth the price                 Worth the Price
this is an amazing app luv it keep up the good work update i have been using this app for about 6mths now and i am very impressed Everybody i show it to luvs it and thinks it is amazing also ty Still amazing Luv the updates                 amazing
A real surprise I bought this app one evening because I was bored and found it to be well executed and easy to use It is artistically constructed and at the same time scientifically useful to amateur astronomers As an avid user and fan of Sky Safari I have been reluctant to purchase similar apps I recommend you check this out MN                 A Great Value
I have been using this app for several months I only began to really appreciate it when I used it to help locate Comet ISON The multitude of features make it more useful for more advanced users although still easy enough for everyone to use It is easily my most used astro app Dont hesitate buy it today You will NOT be disappointed                 Awesome
I have learned a lot from this app Im just getting into astronomy but its obvious this app would also be beneficial to parents with kids interested in learning more about astronomy It offers many different ways to perceive the cosmos all with smooth transitions and appealing visual effects It may seem a bit pricey to the average mobile user but its definitely worth it Especially when you think about the time and effort the developers put into this                 Great Learning Tool
This app is amazing Im currently enrolled in an Astronomy class and this app makes finding and choosing what to observe a thousand times easier Perfect app all the way around                 Awesome
Update the new version released with iOS 8 is a tremendous upgrade This app just gets better and better Original review I am truly amazed by this application Its a bit difficult to put into words why that is but the app evokes an almost visceral reaction unlike any of the more popular astronomy applications SkySafari Pro Star Walk I have used The vision of the author comes through in a thousand details large and small and the sum is greater than its parts The full Tycho 2 star catalog is enormous which is just one external resource the app draws upon to make it the biggest collection of space objects I have seen While there is a bit of a learning curve it is well worth the effort the app advances the state of the art not only for astronomy software but for iOS apps in general Highly highly recommended                 Astonishing and delightful
Every time I open this app I am reminded of the genius minds that were able to put so much into such a tiny space am grateful to John Stephen and Brian Albers for continued interest in baconwrapping this most excellent app Nî Hâo and Namaste                 Just getting better all the time
I have used a number of planateria for both Apple products and the computer In all the 25 or 30 I have worked with three have floated to the top of all the rest One is for a computer the other two are for my iToys as I call the numerous Apple units I have Of those two one is LUMINOUS Without doubt it has everything I want in this type of program It is unbelievable in its versatility An example is its ability to find things by either RA and DEC or by Alt and Az The screen is not cluttered so as to block another feature The brighter stars and their names permit the scoper an easy time to find several alignment stars Whatever the price of this app it is more than worth the price Hence 5 stars                 LUMINOUS
I have all the major star map apps and this one has been my go to favorite The upgrades keep adding to this masterpiece I particular like the new satellite tracking features The telescope eyepiece reticle calculator is another great feature                 My Favorite Star App
The new version really makes using and exploring much more intuitive for me amazed at the number of objects and absolutely love the new object models Just cant say enough good stuff about this one                 Very Impressive
This is a very fun and informative app Most features can be learned simply by tapping the buttons on the screen If that is not enough go to the browser and select users guide and there are professional informative videos on how to operate the app The Video on the basics is slightly more then 5 min So it wont waste your time Selecting a planet the app will fly through the solar system and orbit the selected planet Features on it can be selected for more information Or select a satellite and go ride it So you can see the earth from that perspective Fun to use and a serious astronomy tool also My favorite astronomy app                 Fun app
Really enjoy the program but I had three lists of thing Ive seen and all three have disappeared and the info Id entered for my scope has disappeared in the latest update Otherwise thisd be rated higher        Lost my lists
I bought it as a information tool along side my telescope Found out later I t will auto guide and remote control my telescope Night vision settings browse functions orbit from the perspective of a planet planetary moon even satellites like ISS and Hubble Still finding new things each time I use the app Worth every penny                 Nerd heaven
Out of all the apps I have tried this by far the best When I first purchased this App think I paid like 1100 Got to say best 1100 bucks I ever spent Also once I learned how to use and navigate have been able to teach my kids and there friends about the night sky Was able to take my Daughter out last night and show her the international space station as it past over sheI where both amazed Thanks Luminos                 My favorite App
Our whole family is with this app especially our 4 yr old Thanks for creating such a great tool for curiosity                 In love
This is by far the most well made app on the market I highly recommend spending the money on this program even if youre not into astronomy You wont regret it                 Unbelievable
I really like this app but for my own type of use it needs more catalogs for deep sky objects I frequent dark skies so IC Sharpless and PGC catalogs would be great Its still very difficult to see the symbols for objects too Just a few minor tweaks and this apps would be the best              Very good app but
Love riding a satellite or seeing the night sky from the moon                 Excellent app
This is a correction to my previous comment about the poor quality image of the version of Luminos 8 After writing my review I contacted the software developers and in a practically instant email response with extremely easy to follow instructions I was able to adjust the new Luminos to the same image quality as the previous version My hats off to the developers and their quick attention to the users                 New update
Tons of info Not for beginners Worth every                 Awesome
Absolutely awesome                 Wonderful App
Great app Works great with the IPad with iOS 8 Keep up the good work                 Rating
Great app and I would highly recommend it to any astronomer Though I have one very small problem on the telescope settings under eyepiece I put a 63 mm and a 36 mm eyepiece and it rounds them up to 6 and 4 respectively Im not sure if that changes anything though but I assume it doesthanks and again great app                 Great app
One of the best Astronomy apps one of the best Apple Apps period                 One of the best Apple apps
Im a member of SCAS from South Florida I just find this app and looks excellent Great look and rendering I will recomend it to everybody Im just learning but is a nice app for amateur astronomers                 Amazing
This app just keeps getting better and better this is the real deal Fantastic update thanks for all the hard work it shows                 Great update
This app is the most useful app for stargazers I have ever used The night vision mode is a big plus I had no idea of the things that could be seen at night The satellite tracking is fantastic I cant say enough about this awesome app                 Awesome
This app is a planetarium for iPad and iPhone and now with the iWatch searching the universe has become even more exciting There are other astronomy apps in the App Store and are good for what they can do but for me Luminos is my planetarium the other apps are interesting and those capture my attention when I just want to play around Luminos is quality                 Universe Exploration Total Experience
This is the most amazing astronomy program Ive seen And Ive been using them since the 80s How it can make an iPhone accurately track literally 1000s of satellites comets and asteroids in real time is unreal Excellent program I wish I could use it on my iMac                 Astonishing
This app by far is the best If you are wondering which astronomy app to download this is it I have tried just about all of the astronomy apps that are out there and this is by far the best one You will not be disappointed                 Download
Fascinating App How about a a screenshot saver option Stuff Ive seen is fun thank you for such a wonderful experience that this is                 Stellar
Like the description says this app is a must have I Ive tried several astronomy apps and this is pretty much all I need when taking out the ole scope for a session Very accurate and informative and keeps getting better and better                 Keeps getting better and better
On the market by a large margin This app does everything from satellite to deep sky Plus the recent free update now includes actual pictures of the objects themselves This is a must buy for anyone interested in astronomy                 Best Astronomy App
Luminos delivers what it says The interface for telescope remote goto control works beautifully and accurately I dont even use the hand controller on the GC5 mount much any morejust to initially setup and then utilizing the wireless skyfi to control the mount Touching your desired target and the Goto command brings your object right into the FOV in my scopes including the C11 and 102mm refractor And the graphical control allows the operator to nudge and slew about at different speed rates Using Luminosity on a recent Chicago Astronomer Observation session we were slewing all night to the spring cluster bonanzas just by pointing to them on the screen Beats using the archaic hand controller so 1990s The graphics are top notch and I use them during public observation sessions to demonstrate orbital mechanics and manipulating objects in a 360 degree manner is nice Before purchasing I contacted the Wobbleworks with a couple of questions and the author replied within the day Excellent The frequent updates keep the app fresh and I like the satellite data included Its the first Astro app I activate before a session but its the wireless remote control that is the winner herea lot more economical than another Astro app Chicago Astronomer Joe                 Excellent Telescope Control
This is the first time Ive been motivated enough to write a review of an app All Ive hard about all the time is Sky Safari but I stumbled across Luminos and decided to gamble Its a fantastic app to help with observing or to do indoor observing on cloudy nights Easy to learn interface with tons of features and it looks fantastic on a retina screen                 Great App
Im continually impressed not only by the excellence of this program but also by how frequently the developers release upgrades offering significant improvements in both power and usability Undoubtedly the best value Ive seen in astronomy software any OS or platform over the past 30 years                 Extraordinary
This application is so powerful As an amateur I am able to view track and monitor celestial object I could only dream about a few short years ago                 Fantastic tool
Best app Ive used A little expensive but well worth the money Here in Center Pennsylvania theres a meteor shower going on and its right on point Love the App Get it dont second guess yourself                 Great App
Pro feature set and active development make this the best astronomy app for iOS Very pleased                 Best astronomy app for iOS
Over all it is a fantastic application and I highly recommend it I had been using Planetarium for Palm OS for many years to track what was above my head and to plan searches with my telescope It had also served as a replacement for the nautical almanac for celestial navigation However eventually time came to update and Palm was no longer After searching I came across Luminos This application gives me almost everything I need with out of this world graphics In addition to assisting in locating natural celestial bodies the tracking of manmade satellites becomes a breeze I was able to identify the international space station when it would have been easily confused with just another flight out of MIA Updates occur regularly without glitches The only thing missing are the meteor showers I have already contacted the developers and they assured me that they are looking into this                 Fantastic Application
