5 Stars easily if it wasnt for a mediocre user interface and spelling errors This is after all a calculator so the interface needs user input to calculate the type of precious metal Spot price is calculated instantly and is updated when you start the app and again anytime you push the price button again also the user must choose the weight type Troy Ounce Gram Grains spelled wrong in app Grian very annoying etc then the purity in the metal then percentage of spot Percent is also spelled wrong in the app When clicking through these options there is no Done button to return back to interface for example when you spin the purity wheel in Gold from 10K to 18K you are stuck at the wheel I could only figure out to click outside the wheel on the GUI to get back to it Aside from all of the other great ideas in previous reviews I still say it is a very useful app and I use a metal detector so I find gold jewelry all the time this gives me a quick value right in the field Because this is how I use it I really liked the idea of having the future ability to save a calculation and to be able to take a picture along with that entry and when its in the saved folder and named all calculations are updated immediately to spot when you view the folder containing your saves Also in gold The ability to enter a numerical amount besides the preset standards on the wheel 10k 14k 18k 22k 24k etc I want to have the ability to enter 825 etc Maybe even have a button that launches a quick popup window with a conversion chart 750 18k etc              Very Useful for Gold Buyers

This app used to be good but now its useless I wrote the developer to report the problem but there has been no response This is also true for the other products made by Michael Burkard like the Scrap Calculator Pro If he is fixing the bug then the least he could do is to update his customers on the status so we know what to expect     Useless

Just now the app is connecting to the price servers again to grab some money from poor newbies with iPhone 6s Dont buy it they will probably shut down their servers again     Service was down for years

The app is great and does what it needs to very well It is an easy interface to use and looks professional My only points to improve the app is Put a refresh button to manually update the metal prices Many times I am connected to the internet and the prices may or may not update If there was an addition to track the metals you own based their characteristics current value and cost you bought it at along with historical charts this app would be PERFECT Other apps have this capability but none do the calculator charts and investment tracker in one that I have found This is an updated review on version 2 Love the new interface Much more readable and professional looking Does this program do everything No but if you expect it to for 3 youre completely unreasonable              Very good app only a few possible improvements

Just bought this app and got it up and running in 60 seconds Input my physical metals portfolio in Troy ounces and it gives me the total value for each metal position and thank God it saves the input so I can recheck how my positions are doing without reentering all the data Oohrah                 What more would I want

Ive had this app for years and all of a sudden it stopped working Deleted it and tried to install it again but still no luck     Not working

Id like to request a few add ons if you think that they are worthy 1 The ability to take a picture of the metals being quoted along with the total value for later review The Log could save the pic the time Metal price Weight unit purity Percentage total price This could be saved as a offer or a completed purchase 2 The ability to set the value of the karat such as 14K instead of 585 I could set it up as 580 to hedge against solder etc in the gold 3 The ability to add more choices in the metals such as 16K for dental 400 900 for silver coins A feature that would allow us to place a choice on the wheel and also tie a to it would be great 4 The app should refresh the price each and every time a unitpurity etc is changed and should not have to touch the price to make it refresh 4 The ability to hide the persent Percent is the proper spelling of Spot price the number should be able to be selected on a wheel from 0 to 100 in 5 increments 5 Would like to be able to set the Percent in a admin area where each metal could have a different percentage if requested Thanks Phil           Great app with a few request

Wouldve got 3 stars but it has been inoperable for almost a week so i was forced to buy a new app Gold tracker by Hearn apps is way better        Ok but unreliable
