I have used this app for over 3 years It was a great app Since the major update it has become a nightmare Issues do not download or when they do they are incomplete The functionality is no longer consistent When you tap on articles to read paragraphs are cutoff at the end and articles are often incomplete It is as if the quality review of the software has been discontinued I gave it a chance because it was so good for so long After my paper didnt download again today I have now discontinued use What a shame to ruin what was once a great app Bye bye     Update Destroyed App
Outstanding Saves time money Very GreenOther than an occasional software glitch there is no better way to access my morning papers no matter where I am I do not have access to home delivery so press reader is a real money saver in a big way                 The Best
With IOS802 my subscription to the New York Times is gone The publication doesnt appear to be available in any of the publication menus and cant be found through the search bar in press reader     Problems with NY Times
This software presents the title of the article and does not display any text or any indication of what is happening with download practically locks up the screen Really did lock up to screen a couple times Cannot endorse     Does not report download status
Ever since they made the newest upgrade this app has worked poorly Its either slow or responsive and doesnt show all my publications     Used oy be a good app
App is fine if you want to use iTunes to pay I have a subscription to the Phila Inquirer and should be able to authorize free delivery but cannot Have tried to contact Press Reader to get information but they will not contact me back That is just rude     not is you have your own subscription
Ive been using this app for two years some days I get the auto download but most I dont This then requires me to go to the utilities log out and relog on then do a manual download for each publication Its a daily pain and my only complaint until it got fixed in May 2015 works like a champ every day Now my only complaint is I wish they had a version that work as well for Windows machines                 Reading is excellent had daily update problem but its fixed
Works seamlessly to provide the newspaper experience              Does the job
Once updates were made late last summer EVERY item I had disappeared NO PRIOR WARNING of this eventuality was given I had about 18 months of documents I was not able to recover them all The instructions I received were poor I spent much time trying to find the data which was primarily 2 names World Tribune and Living Buddhism The data is not found easily with those 2 names and a range of dates It just seems to be gone Apparently features are accessed within data differently I have not figured out the instructions     Not very use friendly
I like Press Reader because I can downloaded my reading materials on to my iPad and Im able to take it anywhere and read without carrying lots of reading material              Press Reader
PressReader was one of the first apps I got after I bought the original iPad I bought the monthly subscription because it allowed to read most of the newspapers I had read when living around the globe and much less expensively than buying the individual papers from newsstands if you could find them It made the world a much smaller place It is also more convenient to read all of these newspapers on my iPad than the broadsheet versions as they are exact reproductions and are absolutely beautiful on my latest iPads retina display beside taking no additional space and no awkward unfolding PressReader is always the first app I go to when I wake every day Using PressReader along with Zinio and other iPad magazine and local newspaper apps is like having your own think tank reading room in one hand                 Still the best Newspaper app
A real must have for daily life                 Outstanding
Magazine list is limited some newspapers quality is useless But if you opted for nonsubscription option and you hover over a magazine or news paper your cc will be charged before you pickup your hand No warning no confirmation THERE IS NO WAY TO REMOVE YOUR CC INFO If you get trapped just change expiry date of your cc     DO NOT GUVE THEM YOUR CC
I keep getting a system error every time I try to download a newspaper or magazine Someone needs to fix this I was a big fan of the app until it stopped working     Latest version does not work
An update I am sick of the same issues below continuing to recur the inability of Pressreader to fix them and in the latest go round of having another entity Press being pointed to so the two companies can blame each other If Pressreader worked it would be great Now it just asks me to pay for something I should have paid for Horrible customer service on birth counts Been using Press Reader through a number of versions a great way to read newspapers without dealing with recycling and piling up old issues I find I read more than I used to Under the hood have discovered 2 issues Even though I keep at most a weeks worth before deleting Press Reader has been chewing up memory to the point where iOS8 sas it is using up 6 GB Thats just impossible Which led me to discover the second issue reporting a problem through the app doesnt work any more it zips a log file and then reports it needs email set up to send Email on my iPad is set up and I find nothing in the app for setting email other than the account used to register my newspapers Really irritating got both counts     Under the hood issues
Great app excellent quality lots of options                 Excellent app
The app doesnt currently allow to confirm the purchase before downloading Basically a wrong tap ends with an unwanted charge to your account In addition no indication of price is given before downloading Therefore this application is not suitable for a general reader unless one is willing to accept occasional unwanted charges or has a monthly subscription available for around 29month Too bad as it would be a very fine product otherwise     Unauthorized downloads
Update July 19 2015 This is very truly a dumb reader Quite sophomoric As long as my demands were simple just one newspaper everything went well I tried other papers offering samples I didnt like them and wanted to get rid of them showing up everyday and distracting me Not possible Then my earlier complaint too below A dumb reader indeed The app meets and exceeds many expectations I wish I could copy and download elsewhere     Excellent
Great app The best                 Max
Very unclear instructions frequent problems every time you contact customer service they have a workaround every routine function instead of simply having simple instructions They keep blaming it on their contract with NY Times which seems to be unique     Worst App for NY Times
This app should be simpler maybe cause we shouldnt need an app to deliver subscription content Not the worst Ive seen but far from the best           Not the worst
Pressreader remains my go to app for eclectic news from around the world news that I can save in various ways for work and research On my iPad Air and iOS 8 though it jams while reading an issue of well anything I can sometimes get through a few pages then while I can still access many of the functions I cant flip the pages anymore Using the scrubber at the bottom I can go forward and select a new page and start over so all is not lost but itll jam again often right away Please fix because Pressreader is worth it        Still useful but with issues
After a slightly rough start it is now a very enjoyable reading experience                 Appeal Democrat
The app simulates the actual paper yet has all the advantages of digital media I really enjoy it                 Press reader
I find that this app works really well for the newspapers and magazine that I receive I had a hard time with the set up but the a publishers rep walked me through how to get their issues Other separate pubs were delivered and open no problem                 Works well
As a newspaper reader great app For 30mo would like to see the NYT FT WSJ and London Times Would also like to see a bookmark to save articles                 Great app little expensive
For us old guys who still like the look and design of traditional papers Unbelievable assortment of papers worldwide Only thing that is missing from most is the freestanding advertising supplements Very easy to use and download papers and they recently added a ton of magazines of varying interest Could save you some bucks in mag subscription fees App still crashes a few times a week and always has Customer support is responsive              Doesnt Get Better
Great app a little buggy now and then but if you read multiple papers each day buy this app                 If you love Print News Get this
I really like Press Reader It is the closest thing to having the New York Times in ones hands It is easy to navigate and makes it easy to read the articles one is interested in while not losing sight of the layout of the page It is preferable to reading the New York Times on the Times website                 Press Reader
EastY to use                 Ap Well Done
Second attempt at leaving a review It was all deleted when and air message said that the nickname was already taken Really The last two times that I have upgraded my iPad PressReader has not worked Very frustrating I spent 30 minutes redoing the Settings and trying to log into PressReader but nothing works I sent an email to the PressReader customer service And got an automated response that they would respond within three days Really Its probably a good time to cancel my subscription anyway     New York Times not available when iPad upgraded to I OS 8
Wish all newspapers would participate Very useful in my work Would like to cut and paste segments of articles for notetaking Wish it were easier to send articles on Twitter                 Wonderful app
PressReader is a good App This app allows me to receive Soka Gakkais World Tribune and Living Buddhism with great joy Since I am constantly wanting to take and highlight passages out of these two publications I would love if the App allowed me to underline or take notes on top of the articles Also I wished this app allowed me to create PDF of the articles so I can encourage other people subscribe to Living Buddhism and World Tribune Regardless of the highlighting problem I am pretty satisfied with Press Reader Thank you Nammyohorenegekyo                 The app is good but it can be better
Ive been toying with other apps but nothing gives a better reading experience than PressReader It is the closest to actually having a newspaper in your hand it is laid out just like the paper and you can move through it the same way you do a real paper Best of all you can easily change the size of the print as you read without having to move to a whole different view I like that I can quickly download my papers and read them offline while traveling which has been a problem with other newspaper apps They seemed to have fixed the little bugs that were happening about a year ago and it works great                 Best newspaper app out there
Customer service is non existent Am looking for a way to cancel no luck so far Have used this for 3 years with no problem Now this     It just quit delivering my issues
Very good app but some papers Boston Globe cannot be fully enlarged I use a different app to read the Globe              press reader
Much to my dismay this new version of the app continues to disappoint It is far more complex and difficult to navigate Continuous crashes remain consistent and reactivation is required almost daily I dont understand why these problems have not been addressed        Bring Back The Old App
I recently had a problem with my account It was quickly resolved to my satisfaction by support personnel Thank you                 Awesome app support
I am not an avid reader however since being connected to Press Reader that has changed Thank you Truly magical                 Magic
Love the Pressreader for iPad It automatically downloads and is easy to navigate It would be perfect if the screen for printing didnt keep popping up slowing down navigation              Amazing and convenient
Its a nice program but could use highlighting feature for reference and creating a pdf 5 stars if it can do that I           Good but needs some features
The best reader ever                 Oscar
At the risk of jinxing this app PressReader seems to have hit a nice plateauworks well on current hardware running up to date OS I personally have no complaints and wonder which iPad and what iOS the folks are running who are upset Backwards compatibility is hard to guarantee in a rapidly changing competitive electronics era                 So far so good
Even better than the hardcopy many ways                 Great for NYTs
This is an astonishingly elegant app that should satisfy 95 of newspaper junkies While many most of these newspapers have an online edition this app reminds me of how much information is left behind in the changeover to web publishing It is pure joy to read newspapers from around the world in their print versions with ads tables pictures and countless other tidbits of local color Of course some elite papers are not included NY Times WS Journal Frankfurter Allegemeine Zeitung London Times etc Still you can find many great ones like Le Monde Neu Zuercher Zeitiung Washington Post in their full printed glory The allyoucaneat version of this app is admittedly pricey in the age of nearly free news However for an oldtimer newspaper junkie who remembers what his old habit used to cost him I think it is a good deal The main reason I cant give this app five stars is that it still crashes much much too frequently Some papers seem more crash prone than others often createing a frustrating experience for the end user I have been using 30 since its release and have yet to see a single bug fix update This is totally unacceptable in a product with such a high monthly tariff Come on NewsPaper Direct Fix the problems Otherwise it is the Ipad equivalent of having your newspaper delivery person throwing your paper into wet bushes every other day August 2015 Update Well folks it appears that I am too much of a news junkie I have been getting warnings that I am in violation of PressReaders TOS While the PR promise of unlimited access for monthly subscriptions seems to offer an allyoucaneat buffet of newspaper reading there are limits PressReaders TOS defines excessive use as more than 100 issues per month In practical terms this means daily access to three newspapers with 10 issues of other papersmags added How is this unlimited access I still like the service but I can get EXACTLY my choice of top three newspapers by direct subscription for roughly equivalent price I can no longer recommend PressReader monthly membership given TOS limitations and recent removal of favorite newspapers from their stable of offerings           Bait and Switch Read their TOS
The latest version of the app is still buggy under iOS 8 Pages freeze app crashes etc Worked perfectly under iOS 7 Please fix this     Does not wok well on iOS 8
Fantabulous app Allows me to stay on top of current events The interface is easy to use and designed extremely well                 Awesome
Ive been using the app for about three or four years and I think its great I want to recommend it to anyone who wants to read a lot on the go                 Press reader app is excellent
Weve had a subscription to this app for four years and as with any relationship weve had our ups and downs The app crashes occasionally sometimes the papers we subscribe to dont get delivered but in the end we have always found the downloaded versions to be good replicas of the original and the customer service to be excellent We recommend this app all of the time                 A long term relationship
Ive always found Pressreaders presentation to be great but recently had a chance to experience their tech support Bottom line great I had lost autodownload function and tech support gave me a procedural fix within 24 hours of my query that worked perfectly first time through              Tech support kudos
