Speaky - Articles & Text voice reader

I love this app The fact that it parses through the url and pulls out the story and then reads it to you Magic                 Works 100

Very easy to use and being able to copy the links out of Safari is easy The only issue I am having is that the intro screen the sideways S pops up on start and doesnt go away Sometime I have to close the app and relaunch to get to the inbox Functionality and ease of use is 5 star Just wish it would start a little cleaner              Odd Behavior

And using this for about six months and I truly love it I currently have the setting and the slowest speed and its just right I like the feature that highlights the text as it is being read                 Brilliant

I use this all the time when my hands and eyes are busy with other things The developer continues to roll out improvements                 Nifty

Maybe a few more Voices Via In App purchases but better App Integration than a leading competitor                 Very Good

This is a really cool and powerful application I use it to listen to articles in the car I need to read for MBA courses I am taking It turns what would otherwise be wasted time bring my commute into efficient use of time A couple of things would make this app even better 1 It would be nice if you could sync up Articles and documents from Evernote Dropbox Google Drive etc 2 It would be useful if you could sync up your Articles between iOS devices In other words it would be nice if I added an article on my iPad and the good listen to it on my iPhone or vice versa 3 It would be nice if you could add Articles or documents from a desktop website as well I find myself having to copy and paste rather large articles sometimes and this can be a bit cumbersome on an iOS device and would be much easier on my Mac or PC              Minor Improvements masterpiece

This is a great app for people with a lot of stuff to read I like the australian voice it sounds more natural than the US one                 Speaky

I have leaning disabilities and texttospeech is something I use daily Version 2 of this app is useable but way too slow It should take seconds to do the OCR not minutes I have high hopes for version 3           Getting much better but too slow

I get ill if I try to read on the train and this app has made my commute more enjoyable Im finally catching up on my list of articles to read                 Great for commuters

I use this app for proof reading important business emails and other forms of written communications Working late at night or on a plane or train or in a cab it is easy to miss typos and grammar mistakes This app solves that problem Works great easy to catch typos and grammar errors                 Works great

Awesome app I read an article about it in Lifehacker and decided to give it a try and Im very happy with it Works exactly as adverstised and its just perfect for my morning routine I love the Pocket integration because I dont really use the clipboard to add new items but I import everything from Pocket                 5 stars

Great for extracting text from articles and read them aloud I gave it 4stars and not 5 because this app is a utility or supplement to other apps and dies not provide any content and feel it should have the option to integrate with other applications Flipboard is a brilliant digital magazine app that could very much benefit from this type of integration              Simple and very helpful

This app improves with each update I was looking for a way to listen to articles while doing fitness walking and this works well I like the integration with Pocket esp as it is easy to send from one app to the other Keep up the good work              Worth a try

Speaky has enabled me to increase the amount of content I can consume on a daily basis The features that set it apart for me are 1 The ability to Read All in a list I can queue up a bunch of articles and then start the Read All and Speaky cycles through the list for me without having to touch anything again This is great during for driving or running or doing other activities where your hands arent free Ive queued up to 90 articles and had several hours of content streaming with no further interaction 2 Pocket integration This is a plus but also reveals weakness For now Pocket acts as an intermediary between Feedly and Speaky on my phone I have numerous feeds in Feedly and I can single press the headlines to have them save to Pocket and then import all to Feedly So this is great But it would be better if Speaky better integrated with other iOS apps or provided a webservice that could used by IFTTT Similarly while Speaky is an option for sharing in Safari on iOS it isnt an option on the iOS sharing panel in other apps 3 Speed Speakys reader uses Siris voice but is able to speak faster than Siri can do text to speech through Accessibility features This means that if you train your ear and brain to listen at the faster pace you can get through content faster than you might think Speaky at high speed enables reading at around 400500 words per minute double what the average person can read I dont write many reviews but this is an app I can totally recommend and hope that it gains in popularity to facilitate its integration further into iOS and other apps                 Critical for Copious Consumption of Content

I am updating this review because of an issue of tech support I had a question that was solved simply and quickly Awesome support for an excellent app Ive had this app for some time now and since I enjoy it so much Ill write a review Speaky does exactly what it says it will I continue to be amazed at how it extracts articles from a URL Impressive I listen to articles on Speaky when driving when working around the house etc If this app sounds at all appealing to you get it                 Among my favorite apps

Great way to stay current If I see an article I want to read but dont have the time I save it into Speaky then listen to it while driving                 Solid App

This is a simple and rock solid texttospeech app It can handle all the languages supported by iOS It is also great for language learning I very much enjoy using this app and recommend it to anyone looking for a good texttospeech app It definitely deserves five stars                 The Best TTS App

The pocket integration makes this a great app since pocket still hasnt released its listen feature for iOS The voice options however still sound pretty robotic and I can only listen to it for short periods of time           Good app voice still lacking

Great features and interface Very intuitive In my career I need to read a lot of scientific publications In addition to its many other features this app allows me to maximize the time I spend driving working out or being in any situation where I cant read Plus its more reasonably priced than others apps that do similar              Exactly what I needed at a great price

I installed the app but could not get it to read any articles from websites I guess user error OR we need more instructions on how to use     Installed it but dont know how to use it

This product is excellent for linking with my Pocket reading app so I can listen to all the articles Ive saved on the go The creator keeps this application consistently updated offering frequent useful updates and new features Im very happy that I purchased this The only bug Ive noticed is that occasionally the highlighted words dont necessarily sync with what is being read aloud if the articles long or if you exit and then go back into the application while it has been speaking in the background                 Exceptional Product Support

I collect lots of stuff to read in Pocket and sometimes while walking its nice to have Speaky read to me so I dont have to be distracted Overall this is a nice and simple utility that does the job of reading most text and links that you throw at it The main screen is a little sparse with only the link to the inbox and button to import items The main screen would be better utilized if there was a dashboard with common import methods like pocket one tap away rather than a few taps as it is currently It would also be nice if the link with pocket were persistent and didnt require jumping out of the app to authenticate with pocket each time Finally Id love the option of installing higher quality voices as the current one is somewhat stiff and robotic              Useful for commutes

When a blog post is too long to finish in my RSS reader I send it to Pocket That makes it easy to grab from Speaky and listen to when my eyes have to be otherwise occupied Its also easy to go right from Safari to pocket by copying the URL                 Makes the iPhone more useful

Among various text to speech apps i tried quite a bit since I have bad eyes this is the one that I keep coming back to Fast stable continuously updated and optimized for fastest user interaction Thanks to the dev much appreciated                 Nails it

I have been searching for a good text to speech app for a while for the use of the many webpage articles pdfs and other docs I have to read for college I was quite disappointed with this app It is very basic The voice is quite annoying and difficult to listen to especially on longer documents and articles Also when importing a webpage to the app for reading it doesnt keep any of the formatting such as paragraphs It just pastes a big blob of text If you are looking for a reader that has customizable and more natural voices and keeps all formatting I recommend Voice Dream Reader I know its expensive but I found it was very easy to listen to and very easy to read and follow along I will keep an eye on this app in the mean time for improvements and will update my review accordingly        Very basic

A significantly large percent of my article readings are through the Wall Street Journal This application is not compatible with WSJbased articles this is unfortunate Excluding that aspect Speaky can be a fairly useful application if your readings are compatible great for onthego folk     Not For WSJ Subscribers

This little gem just keeps getting better I listen to my favorite blogs to save tons of time plus it works great with my Pocket app Keep up the great job                 Love it

I love the concept of the app and when it works its great but it doesnt import any articles from the New York Times from Pocket it just says NO TITLE unable to retrieve fulltext content despite the articles displaying fine in Pocket Also the app should add automatic import from Pocket with ability to Archive from Speaky           Good idea bad NYT support

I love this app With it I can easily read websites without looking at them Easy to use and effective                 I use it every day

This app crashes on my iPad mini retina whereas it is working perfect on my iPhone 5           App crashing
