I am a home theater nut and a friend asked me to review this application for him I have an Onkyo TXSR804 which already has builtin calibration I first reset my receiver to the defaults and performed the calibration with the provided microphone from Onkyo and recorded the results I then started Theater Tool and verified the results with the measured distances and the application with the iPhones builtin mic and the levels kept pretty flat I reset the receiver to the defaults and performed the calibration with just the Theater Tool software Where it falters is its lack of equalization I am not sure if the iPhones microphone is sensitive enough to pick up equalization but it would be nice to have the option with an external microphone The results from Theater Tool were good but not as good as the receivers builtin calibration because of the equalization However I still highly recommend this application especially at this price point              Inexpensive and pretty accurate
